Final Cut ProIt’s been rumored for a while that Apple would be announcing an update to their core Pro application suite, but this morning as I reviewed my usual spam mail, I noticed an announcement from a company exhibiting at NAB that flat out announced support for the “the new Final Cut Studio“. And I guess it could be that Apple has scheduled a big announcement at the Venetian in Vegas NOT to announce this product, but I think this is pretty solid.
Here’s the clip (I’ve edited out the product names as we know Steve Jobs can get a little cranky about things like this):
Oops I leaked Apple’s Final Cut Studio
It remains to be seen whether Apple will be switching around the membership of the Final Cut Studio package (e.g. adding Shake or Aperture to the mix), but they should definitely be updating Final Cut Pro to version 6, Motion to version 3, and DVD Studio Pro to version 5. I’m guessing there will be a whole lot more HD support in the supporting applications. And we’re also waiting to hear how their Silicon Color high-end color correction tool will get integrated, as well as Proximity’s products (the media management company they acquired last year).

It’s going to be a great NAB.
