McCain schedules Parent-Teacher Conference on Palin


Concerned about Sarah Palin’s performance, John McCain asked for a parent-teacher conference to discuss her performance on a recent test and to express his concern that the test had “trapdoor”/trick questions. Well, not really, but it sure seemed like it.

I guess Palin really did “Phone-A-Friend”.

Palin explains Foreign Policy by Osmosis to Couric

Transcript of the most painful part (90% of this):

Couric: Explain to me why [proximity to foreign countries] enhances your foreign policy credentials?

Palin: Well it certainly does. Because our… Our next door neighbors are foreign countries. They’re in the state that I am the executive of. And there in Russia…

Couric: Have you ever been involved with any negotiations with the Russians?

Palin: We have trade missions back and forth… we do. It’s very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia as … Putin rears his head and… ah…comes into the airspace of the United States of America, where do they go? It’s Alaska. It’s just right over the border. It is from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there. They are next to… to our state.

Trade missions, eh? Putin flying over Alaska on his way to the United States? This is getting pathetic.

After Palin went round and round and ended up effectively reasoning that, “Proximity to other countries enhances my foreign policy experience because I’m close to other countries,” I knew it reminded me of someone else with interviewing challenges: Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap.
